UK announces £752 million drone aid package for Ukraine

On 18‑19 June 2026 the United Kingdom announced a package of 150,000 unmanned aerial vehicles, more than 350 radar systems and air‑defence missiles for Ukraine, valued at £752 million (about $1 billion). Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis presented the aid at a Ukraine Defence Contact Group meeting in Brussels and said it would be financed through a £2.26 billion loan to Kyiv backed by profits from frozen Russian sovereign assets.

The announcement came after a large Ukrainian drone raid on Moscow that injured 17 civilians and caused a refinery fire. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that Moscow would respond, stating “I have long been convinced that words are not enough.” The UK also said it will head the multinational force coordinating international support for Kyiv.
