UK-based former Hamas bodyguard faces extradition to Germany

A former bodyguard for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was granted asylum and British citizenship, faces extradition to Germany following an alleged plot to attack Jewish targets in Europe.

The individual, who has operated under deep cover as an IT consultant in the United Kingdom for over a decade, is accused of leading a plan to target Jewish community centers, Israeli diplomats, and pro-Israel demonstrations last October. The plot was reportedly timed to coincide with the anniversary of the October 7 massacre.

Intelligence services from Mossad and Germany alerted the UK's National Crime Agency, leading to the individual's arrest in central London last November. The suspect had previously lived in Gaza, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey before settling in a British suburb.
