UK business groups and experts prepare for upcoming Budget

As the UK Budget approaches, business stakeholders and financial experts are preparing for potential fiscal changes. The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has called for actions to drive investment, including reducing the cost of doing business and removing regulatory barriers to growth.

The Institute of Directors (IoD) has proposed a five-point plan focusing on a predictable tax environment, infrastructure delivery, and the acceleration of AI adoption. Meanwhile, the British Chambers of Commerce is advocating for a targeted tax reduction package, specifically requesting cuts to employer National Insurance contributions for workers under 25 and relief on energy and business rates.

On an individual level, financial experts are advising caution against making major decisions based solely on speculation regarding tax rises or inheritance rule changes. While some savers have previously made costly mistakes by reacting to rumors, advisors suggest focusing on maximizing existing tax-efficient allowances, such as ISAs and pensions, based on personal financial merit.
