UK care homes mark 100th birthdays of residents in Lydney and Salford

Nodens Manor Care Home in Lydney, Gloucestershire, announced an appeal for birthday cards to celebrate resident Brenda Price’s 100th birthday on 1 August. The home asked the public to send cards before 25 July so the centenarian can receive a large collection on the morning of her birthday.

In Eccles, Salford, 100‑year‑old Audrey Miller marked her centenary at Barton Brook care home with a message urging people to “carry on being friends.” Miller, a former bank clerk, received a telegram from King Charles III and Queen Camilla following the celebration. The home also promoted an upcoming summer fair scheduled for 25 July.

Both events highlight local care homes’ efforts to honor centenarian residents and involve community participation.
