UK care homes receive positive inspection ratings

Two care homes in the United Kingdom have received positive evaluations following recent inspections by national regulatory bodies.

Vecta House in Newport, Isle of Wight, was awarded ‘good’ ratings across all categories by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), including safety, effectiveness, and leadership. The CQC noted that the facility treats residents with kindness and respect, providing personalised care for up to 54 people, including those with dementia. While inspectors identified minor areas for improvement regarding documentation and the environment, the management team has acknowledged these findings.

In Scalloway, the Walter and Joan Gray care home, operated by CrossReach, earned a ‘very good’ rating from Care Inspectorate Scotland for its leadership and support of resident wellbeing. This follows a critical inspection in 2025 that highlighted issues with fire doors and water access. During the recent follow-up visit, inspectors found that residents felt safe and well cared for, noting warm and respectful interactions between staff and residents.
