UK Civil Aviation Authority issues travel warnings for Stansted and Southend

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued safety warnings for travelers using Stansted and Southend airports during the August Bank Holiday weekend. With approximately two million passengers expected to travel across England, Scotland, and Wales, authorities are urging holidaymakers to check their luggage for lithium batteries.

To prevent overheating and potential fire risks, passengers are advised to keep power banks, vapes, spare batteries, laptops, tablets, and smartwatches in their hand luggage rather than checked bags. The CAA also cautioned against charging power banks while on board an aircraft.

London Stansted Airport reported a record-breaking July with over three million passengers, highlighting the high volume of travel expected during the upcoming holiday period.
