UK college students secure prestigious university offers

Students at Winstanley College and Ashton Sixth Form College have achieved significant academic success following recent examination results.

Winstanley College reported that 20 students received offers for the 2026 academic year from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. The offers cover diverse subjects, including Medicine, Natural Sciences, Education, and History. Principal Simon Lett noted that the results follow months of preparation and support from the college’s Oxbridge preparatory programme.

At Ashton Sixth Form College, students secured a total of 1,860 top grades at A*–B or equivalent across A Levels, T Levels, and vocational courses. Notable achievements include placements at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College London. Additionally, technical and vocational students saw high success rates, with 96% of T Level students achieving at least a Merit.
