UK colleges announce rebranding and facility upgrades

Middlesbrough College has rebranded its Northern Skills division to MC Apprenticeships & Training. This change is part of the institution’s Vision 2030 strategic plan, following a consultation with over 6,000 stakeholders. The new identity aims to align the apprenticeship and workforce training services more closely with the core college brand. The college, which received an Outstanding rating for apprenticeships from Ofsted in 2024, provides over 50 apprenticeship standards to local and national employers.

Separately, York College has completed two major refurbishment projects to modernize its teaching facilities. Working with Ben Johnson Interiors and Bowman Riley, the college converted redundant office space into a professional beauty training centre and renovated its primary lecture theatre. The upgrades include new acoustic panelling, lighting, and specialist furniture to support seminars, presentations, and vocational training.
