UK community grant programmes expand with Beyond Housing fund and PHF Arts Fund

Beyond Housing has re‑opened its Community Fund, offering grants of up to £1,000 to charities, voluntary groups, residents’ associations and other not‑for‑profit organisations in Redcar, Scarborough, Whitby and surrounding areas. The fund, aimed at projects that improve safety and strengthen neighbourhood relationships, awarded more than £10,000 to 21 projects last year, including the Senses Wellbeing Centre and Futureworks NY.

The PHF Arts Fund announced its second round of grantholders, providing core funding to arts organisations that work across difference and support people experiencing homelessness. Grants were awarded to Arts and Homelessness International and Arts at the Old Fire Station, among others, to develop strategic plans, strengthen sector infrastructure and create long‑term systemic impact.

Both initiatives reflect a broader push to channel private‑sector grant money into community‑building and cultural projects across the United Kingdom.
