UK community groups undertake charity walks and climbs

Various community groups in the United Kingdom are undertaking physical challenges to raise funds for charitable causes.

In the Worth Valley, Sarah McManus and her daughters are participating in the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike. The 10km walk is being held in memory of family members and to support the hospice’s palliative and bereavement care services. The family has already exceeded their initial fundraising goal of £100.

Additionally, the ‘Walking Mums’ community group is planning to climb Snowdon via the Llanberis trail. The group aims to raise money for the Alice Hiley Memorial Trust, which provides specialized equipment for neonatal units across North West England. The group hopes to reach a total of £10,000 for the trust by the end of the year.
