UK councils announce road closures for utility works

Local councils in the United Kingdom have issued temporary traffic regulation orders for road closures to facilitate utility works.

In Surrey, the Surrey County Council has issued a temporary prohibition of traffic on Harpers Road (D67) in Ash. The closure is required for Aspen Construction to perform emergency repairs on a rising main for a pumping station. The works are expected to take approximately six weeks, commencing October 11, 2026, with restrictions occurring between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm.

In Bath and North East Somerset, the council has announced a temporary road closure on Clutton Hill, Clutton. The restriction is necessary for Bristol Water to install a new water supply. While the order is valid for up to six months starting October 28, 2026, the actual works are anticipated to last three days.
