UK councils approve housing and job projects in Devon and Liverpool

The Ipplepen Parish Council has raised concerns over road access for a proposed development at Blackstone Cross in Devon. The application, submitted by Ipplepen LVA LLP and Little Bradley Farm SW Ltd, seeks permission for up to 120 homes, including 36 affordable units, with a mix of one‑ to four‑bedroom properties and six custom‑built houses. The council described the planned access from Clampitt Road and alterations to the A381 junction as unsatisfactory, citing potential issues with flood risk, infrastructure capacity and highway safety.

Liverpool City Council's cabinet has approved a plan to market the 55‑acre Stonebridge Cross site on the East Lancashire Road as an employment‑led mixed‑use development. The project aims to deliver around 220 homes alongside significant industrial, logistics and manufacturing space, with an intended 70% employment and 30% residential split. The council expects the scheme to create local jobs, provide affordable housing, attract private investment and deliver broader regeneration benefits for Croxteth and surrounding neighborhoods.
