UK courts convict fathers in separate infant murder cases

Bradley Thomas, 23, was sentenced at Teesside Crown Court to a minimum of 14 years' imprisonment after being found guilty of murdering his three‑month‑old son, Emmerson‑Oak Thomas. The court heard Thomas violently shook the infant, causing fatal brain injuries, and then delayed calling emergency services. He received a life sentence with a 14‑year minimum term.

Niall Worsfold, 29, of Leeds, appeared via video link at Leeds Crown Court and was charged with the murder of his one‑month‑old son. The baby died on 10 July 2020 after a brief hospital stay. Worsfold was also charged with child cruelty, remanded in custody, and his trial has been scheduled to begin on 22 February 2027.
