Kano Woman Remanded for Severing Boyfriend’s Manhood

A 25‑year‑old woman, Maimuna Idris, was remanded in a correctional centre after pleading guilty to two charges of attempted culpable homicide and causing grievous hurt. The offences stem from a knife attack on her boyfriend, Ashiru Sani, in Badawa Quarters, Kano, on 27 July, where she allegedly severed his penis after learning he intended to marry another woman. The victim was taken to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital for treatment. Magistrate Sadiya Usman ordered the remand and adjourned the case for further mention on 9 September.
