UK courts hand prison terms to drug dealers in Leicester and Cardiff

Leicester drug dealer Raed Haddad, 26, was arrested after police waited outside his flat in Nugent Street. Officers found £8,790 in cash, 552 g of cocaine and over 350 g of cannabis, valued at around £59,000. Haddad pleaded guilty to possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply, criminal property and a knife, and was sentenced to four‑and‑a‑half years in prison.

In Cardiff, 23‑year‑old Ashlee Omar was convicted of supplying heroin and crack cocaine after an Airbnb‑related text helped police identify him. Evidence from his phone showed a drugs line saved as “Ash” and communications with relatives and a taxi firm. Omar pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying Class A drugs and received a 46‑month prison sentence.

Both cases highlight ongoing police efforts to disrupt local drug networks in England and Wales.
