UK courts order drug traffickers to repay £100k and seize £420k cannabis
Wolverhampton Crown Court ordered 26‑year‑old Rohan Chander to repay more than £100,000 in proceeds from a cannabis‑laden sweets operation. Police seized confectionery containing cannabis, cash and other drug‑related items after stopping Chander’s vehicle in the West Midlands. The confiscation order follows a previous suspended sentence for possession of a class‑B drug.
In a separate case, a teenage gang led by Ahmed Mohammed was convicted after importing up to £420,000 of cannabis from Hong Kong and subsequently robbing victims of mobile phones in Liverpool. The court heard how the group used distraction tactics to snatch phones on Mathew Street and Bold Street, linking the drug importation to a series of street‑level thefts.
