UK defense chief reports 500,000 Russian troops killed in Ukraine

Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton, Chief of the UK Defence Staff, stated that more than 500,000 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022. These fatalities are part of a total of 1.5 million Russian casualties.

Knighton also reported significant losses in military equipment, including over 10,000 armored and protected vehicles, approximately 3,000 air defense and artillery systems, and more than 370 aircraft and helicopters. These figures align closely with data released by the Ukrainian military.

In separate developments, Russian drones targeted gas stations in Kyiv for a second consecutive day. Attacks on two Ukrnafta stations resulted in two deaths and six injuries. Ukrainian officials described these strikes on civilian infrastructure as a systematic campaign to maximize casualties and undermine societal morale.
