UK delivery driver wins 180 billion VND lottery jackpot

Gary MacDonald, a 61-year-old delivery driver from Barking, East London, won a National Lottery jackpot worth 5,208,504 pounds, approximately 180 billion VND. MacDonald had worked for over 30 years delivering packages to shops at the Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex.

After receiving an email notification in April 2025, MacDonald initially believed he had won only 35 pounds. Upon realizing the true scale of the prize, his first action was to resign from his job. Rather than purchasing luxury items, the first thing he bought for his family was a vacuum cleaner.

MacDonald and his partner, Anita, intend to use the windfall to host a larger wedding than originally planned and to search for a new home with a spacious garden.
