The developer argues the payments make the project financially unviable.

In a separate London‑area development, the Berkeley Group is offering to cover up to £40,000 in private‑school fees for buyers of luxury homes in its gated Trent Park estate in north London. The incentive targets families considering properties priced between £760,000 and £1.8 million, amid a stagnant market and reports of empty units. Residents say the offer was not communicated to existing owners.
