UK DWP Announces New State Pension Age Schedule and £965 Payments

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has published a timetable outlining gradual increases to the state pension age for people born between 6 April 1960 and 5 April 1977. Depending on birth month, the entitlement age rises from 66 years 1 month to 67 years, with specific month‑by‑month increments.

Separately, the DWP and Social Security Scotland confirmed that the new full state pension of £965 per month will be paid to eligible pensioners in Scotland, with the first payments expected to hit bank accounts by the end of the Monday following the announcement, despite a one‑day bank holiday introduced for the opening World Cup match in Scotland.
