UK Export Finance provides £655 million for Angola infrastructure
UK Export Finance (UKEF) is providing £655 million in financing to support four major infrastructure projects in Angola. These developments include the design and construction of Cabinda Airport, as well as significant road and electricity infrastructure improvements intended to enhance the country’s transport connectivity and power systems.
The financing is expected to unlock approximately £167 million in supply contracts for British businesses, including contractors, engineers, and manufacturers. Business, Innovation, Science and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds stated that the move aims to showcase British expertise in engineering and construction while strengthening economic ties between the UK and Angola.
This latest support follows a history of UKEF involvement in Angola. Since 2018, the agency has provided over £2 billion in cumulative support across sectors such as healthcare, power, water, agriculture, and transport.
