UK fans turn to tribute acts due to rising concert ticket prices

Rising costs for major live music tours have led to a surge in demand for tribute acts as fans seek more affordable entertainment. Venue operators report a “real increase” in bookings for tribute shows, which typically cost between £20 and £30.

According to a survey by the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA), approximately one-fifth of UK adults have attended a tribute act show in the last year. Furthermore, 30% of respondents expect to attend more such events in the coming year, citing cheaper alternatives to seeing original artists. Over two-thirds of those surveyed agreed that attending major live acts has become too expensive.

Venues such as Propaganda Venues, which includes sites in London, Cardiff, and Leeds, are increasing their tribute offerings to cater to this growing cohort. Popular tribute acts mentioned include Arctic Numpties, Oas-Is, Fleetwood Bac, and Daft Funk.
