UK financial advisers launch new services for EU-based expatriates

Financial services firms are developing new strategies to support British expatriates living in the European Union following the loss of passporting rights after Brexit.

Blevins Franks has launched European Client Solutions (ECS), a referral service designed to help UK-based advisers manage clients who relocate to the EU. The service connects UK firms with local specialists in France, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, and Malta to ensure compliance with local tax, succession, and investment regulations. Chief Executive James Roberts stated the initiative aims to provide a smooth transition for clients while reducing regulatory risk for UK wealth managers.

Similarly, AAF Financial has expanded its reach through the creation of AAF Financial Planning Europe. Founder Finn Houlihan noted that while Brexit made it difficult for UK-regulated firms to provide seamless advice across the continent, there remains a significant market of approximately 1.3 million British expats requiring pre-move planning and ongoing local financial guidance.
