UK financial sector expands career pathways and professional designations
The Future Financial Adviser (FFA) digital community, launched by Money Marketing, has expanded its scope to support professionals transitioning from mortgage advice into financial planning. The platform aims to address a projected shortage of 50,000 advisers over the next decade by providing career guidance, mentoring, and a national jobs board to young people through schools and universities.
In a related development for professional standards, the London Foundation for Banking and Finance (LFBF) and the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) have introduced a chartered pathway for experienced mortgage advisers. Qualified advisers on the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) register can apply for Chartered Member designation by demonstrating four years of continuous professional development and completing an ethics e-learning module. This initiative is intended to strengthen consumer trust and recognize technical expertise and ethical commitment within the sector.
