Craig Titcheener, a 40‑year‑old firefighter at Heathrow Airport, faced a legal dispute over lottery winnings worth roughly ₹2.58 crore. Instead of hiring expensive lawyers, he used the AI tool ChatGPT to research the law, draft documents and prepare his arguments. Representing himself in court, Titcheener presented the AI‑assisted materials and secured a judgment in his favour, recovering the disputed funds.

The case has sparked discussion about AI’s role in legal work, with experts noting that while tools like ChatGPT can help people understand complex information and prepare paperwork, final strategic decisions still require human judgment.
