UK football weight‑loss programme helps men lose up to 15 stone

The MAN v FAT football‑based weight‑loss programme, funded by the Isle of Wight Council, combines weekly small‑sided matches with weigh‑ins and awards points for collective weight loss. Participants report significant physical and mental health improvements.

Robert Tiller from Sandown lost more than 6.5 stone after eight months in the programme, citing better fitness, reduced anxiety and a supportive community. Brad Rogers, a 54‑year‑old chief executive from Minster, Kent, shed 15 stone, cutting his annual fast‑food spend from about £8,000 and regaining the ability to play football with his son. Both men credit the structured football sessions, dietary changes and camaraderie for their success.
