UK Foreign Office warns British travelers of attack risk in Bahrain and Kuwait

The United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has issued a new travel advisory urging British nationals to avoid all but essential travel to Bahrain and Kuwait. The warning cites a heightened risk of attacks and the possibility of sudden escalation following recent Iranian missile strikes that have targeted U.S. and civilian infrastructure in the region. Travelers are advised to monitor flight schedules, as Kuwait International Airport has reduced services and Bahrain faces potential airspace closures. The FCDO recommends staying away from military or security facilities, signing up for travel alerts, and keeping travel documents up to date.

The Government of Bermuda has echoed the FCDO's guidance for Bermudians residing or traveling in the Middle East. It urges citizens to shelter in place, avoid non‑essential travel, and register their location with the FCDO and the Bermuda London Office. The advisory lists Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Palestine, Qatar, and the UAE as areas of concern and asks residents to follow local authority instructions while remaining indoors in secure locations.
