UK frozen food brands Richmond and Chefees expand retail presence

The UK frozen food market is seeing new entries and expansions from established and emerging brands. Richmond is launching its first range of frozen ready meals this September, featuring six home-cooked style dishes including Sausage & Mash, Toad in the Hole, and Cottage Pie. The non-HFSS range will be stocked in Iceland, Sainsbury’s, Farmfoods, and Morrisons to meet consumer demand for convenient meal solutions.

Simultaneously, the direct-to-consumer frozen meal kit brand Chefees has made its retail debut on Ocado. The brand is introducing three frozen bundles: Prawn Marinara, Salmon Teriyaki Bowl, and Tiger Prawns in Coconut Turmeric Sauce. Unlike traditional meal kits, Chefees utilizes flash-frozen ingredients to allow for longer storage and flexibility, aiming to eliminate kitchen prep work while maintaining ingredient quality.
