UK-Ghana Trade Resource Centre launched to boost bilateral exports
The UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the UK-Ghana Jobs and Economic Transformation (JET) Programme, has launched the UK-Ghana Trade Resource Centre. The initiative is designed to assist businesses from both nations in navigating export requirements, identifying commercial opportunities, and securing partners in each other’s markets.
Bilateral trade between Ghana and the United Kingdom reached approximately £1.6 billion in the year leading up to the first quarter of 2026. Despite this volume, businesses have faced challenges including information gaps, complex export procedures, and difficulties meeting product-standard requirements. The new centre aims to provide practical assistance through market intelligence, business matchmaking, and technical referrals.
The launch was a primary outcome of the 2026 UK-Ghana Trade and Investment Summit. The centre will specifically help companies leverage the UK-Ghana Trade Partnership Agreement to facilitate preferential market access.
