UK government issues guidance on potential power outages
The British government has issued information regarding preventive preparations for potential fourteen-day power outages. The guidance advises citizens to maintain supplies of batteries in every room, bottled water, candles, matches, and radios, as well as canned food.
To manage food safety during outages, the guidance notes that refrigerators should maintain temperature for approximately four hours, while a full freezer can keep food cold for 48 hours and a half-empty freezer for about 24 hours. Additionally, the government suggests keeping a certain amount of cash on hand in case digital payment systems become unavailable.
