UK heatwave pushes temperatures to 30°C in North Wales and 29°C in Greater Manchester

The Met Office forecast for Monday, 3 August, predicts a one‑day heat spike in eastern North Wales with temperatures reaching about 30 °C, humid conditions and a chance of evening showers. Cooler weather is expected on Tuesday, with highs falling to the low‑20s and rain spreading across the region.

In Greater Manchester, the Met Office expects a three‑day heatwave with highs of 25 °C on Sunday, a peak of 29 °C on Monday and 25 °C on Tuesday. The UK Health Security Agency has issued a heat‑health alert, warning of increased risk to vulnerable people and higher demand on health services. The area is currently in prolonged dry weather ahead of a drought, and scattered thundery downpours are forecast before temperatures drop to the low‑20s later in the week.
