UK historic sites host winter light trail events

Several historic UK locations are preparing for winter light trail events. Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire will host the 11th Spectacle of Light from November 20 to December 30. This year’s theme is inspired by ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,’ featuring installations such as a giant chessboard, a Mad Hatter’s tea party, and projections on the castle façade.

Windsor Great Park Illuminated is scheduled to run from November 13, 2026, to January 3, 2027. The event will feature a new trail design with light installations and projections. To ensure inclusivity, the organizers will host a Low Sensory Evening on November 24, 2026, which will feature reduced sound levels, limited visitor numbers, and adjusted pathway lighting for those who find traditional festive attractions overwhelming.
