UK housing associations and developers announce major architectural appointments

SNG, a Wembley-based housing association, has appointed 30 architectural practices to a new £24 million framework running until 2030. The roster includes prominent firms such as AHMM, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, and Alison Brooks Architects. The framework is divided into two lots: one focused on masterplanning for sustainable communities and another on the design and delivery of high-quality homes. SNG, formed by the merger of Sovereign Housing and Network Homes, aims to deliver 25,000 homes over the next decade.

In a separate London development, Maccreanor Lavington has been named the lead architect for the residential component of the Albany arts centre overhaul in south-east London. This project involves creating purpose-built student accommodation for approximately 300 Trinity Laban students. The student housing is intended to serve as a primary funding mechanism to secure the capital investment required for the arts centre’s long-term renewal. Witherford Watson Mann will lead the refurbishment of the arts centre itself, working alongside Maccreanor Lavington on the wider site.
