UK Labour Government announces policy updates and NHS funding

The UK Labour government has introduced several policy changes and funding allocations aimed at infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.

In the transport sector, new regulations will allow drivers to appeal unfair private parking charges, with a cap on charges for minor errors set at £20 and a maximum charge frozen at £100. Additionally, planning permission requirements for cross-pavement electric vehicle (EV) chargers have been scrapped to reduce installation costs.

To bolster the NHS ahead of winter, £140 million has been allocated to expand urgent care capacity across England. This funding supports 14 specific schemes, including the rebuilding of Queen’s Hospital in Romford and the deployment of 40 additional ambulances in the East Midlands.
