UK launches £10m Hospitality Grant Scheme for local businesses
A £10 million three-year Hospitality Grant Scheme has launched in the UK to support local hospitality enterprises, including village pubs, family-run restaurants, and neighborhood cafes. The funding aims to launch new ventures, repurpose vacant premises, and support training programs to develop workforce skills.
Of the total funding, £3 million is specifically earmarked for Pub is The Hub, a non-profit organization that assists pubs in rural or deprived areas with diversifying their services. This may include adding community cafes, village stores, or play areas. The initiative follows an announcement that pubs, clubs, and live music venues will receive a 20% reduction in business rates starting in April.
