UK law firms announce new solicitor appointments and trainees

Several UK law firms have announced new appointments and the commencement of training programmes for legal professionals.

mfg Solicitors has welcomed seven new trainee solicitors to its two-year training programme. The cohort, which began on 1 September, includes Gabriella Livesey, Katie Stubbs, Ella Gray, Lauren Baker, Marlena Wierzchowska, Craig Thomas, and Ellie Moore. The trainees will rotate through various departments to gain experience across the firm’s legal services.

In Sheffield, Shakespeare Martineau has appointed two newly qualified solicitors following the completion of their training contracts. Freya Whiteside has joined the commercial services team, and Lisa Bauroth has joined the tax team. The firm noted that its recruitment strategy emphasizes candidate potential and offers multiple pathways into the legal profession, including apprenticeships and various SQE routes.
