UK law firms expand specialist legal departments

Several UK-based law firms are expanding their specialist departments through new appointments.

mfg Solicitors has appointed Elizabeth Simpson as a paralegal within its Residential Property department. Based in the firm’s Kidderminster office, Simpson will work under partner Javed Ahmed to support residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, and re-mortgages, while working toward qualifying as a solicitor in 2027.

BRM has strengthened its contentious trusts and probate offering by appointing Isobel Price as a solicitor. This move establishes a permanent presence for the department in Chesterfield, expanding its reach beyond the firm’s Sheffield office. Price brings experience in agricultural inheritance disputes, Court of Protection matters, and complex trust and property claims.
