UK libraries host digital skills sessions to combat exclusion

As part of the national Get Online Week campaign, libraries in London and Telford are hosting free sessions to help residents improve their digital skills and combat digital exclusion.

In London, library teams are partnering with the NHS to assist citizens with downloading the NHS App, setting up logins, booking appointments, and managing prescriptions. The initiative aims to help those who find technology a barrier to accessing essential healthcare services.

In Telford, Wellington Library is hosting a drop-in session providing practical support for using digital devices and accessing online services. The event includes assistance from Telford Hospital staff regarding the NHS digital patient portal, and advice from Nationwide Building Society on secure online banking and fraud prevention.
