UK local councils expand Family Hub networks for children

Local authorities in the United Kingdom are expanding support networks for children and families through new initiatives and service expansions.

In Runcorn, Halton Family Hubs are partnering with the Fair Education Alliance (FEA) for the ‘Neighbourhood to National’ programme. Running from 2026 to 2028, the project aims to improve outcomes for young children in the Castlefields area by involving families, schools, health services, and community groups in developing local solutions. A community event is scheduled for September 8 at the Castlefields Community Centre to gather resident input.

In Corby, North Northamptonshire Council is expanding its Best Start Family Hub network. Opening in September, the network will initially operate from Kingswood Children’s Centre and Exeter Primary School. The expansion is designed to provide a more integrated approach, allowing families to access a wider range of services and support within their local community at the right time.
