UK maintains leadership in international construction equipment standards
The United Kingdom will continue to play a leading role in developing international safety and performance standards for construction and earthmoving machinery. This follows an ISO/TC 127 committee meeting held in Shanghai, hosted by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC).
Representatives from the Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) attended the meeting, which included participants from 11 national standards bodies. The committee is responsible for reviewing existing standards, setting priorities for new projects, and addressing technical issues related to machinery safety.
Following the conclusion of Jason Ong’s nine-year tenure as chair, the UK will retain its chairmanship. Jane Hodgson of Komatsu has been confirmed as the successor and is scheduled to assume the role in 2027, supported by CEA senior technical consultant Dale Camsell.
