UK medical cannabis patients secured six-month supply of Bedrolite

Target Healthcare has confirmed that UK medical cannabis patients will have access to a six-month stockpile of Bedrolite oil. This announcement follows weeks of uncertainty caused by the collapse of Bedrocan, a key supplier.

Target Healthcare, which manufactures the oil at its Durham facility, stated it has enough stock to provide stability into next year. The company is currently in active discussions with Bedrocan and other organizations to establish a long-term supply plan. This production arrangement was established in 2022 via a technology transfer agreement to mitigate post-Brexit supply disruptions.

In the UK, medical cannabis is legal only when prescribed by licensed specialist physicians for specific clinical needs. While the 2018 rescheduling created a legal pathway, NHS prescribing remains extremely limited, leaving the vast majority of legal prescriptions to be managed through private specialist clinics.
