UK MEET Fellowship selects Ghanaian journalists for technology reporting training

Journalists Portia Cudjoe of Connect FM and Jacqueline Ansomah Yeboah of JoyNews have been selected for the UK Media Excellence for Emerging Technology (UK MEET) Fellowship. The programme aims to enhance journalistic capabilities in reporting on science, technology, and emerging innovations.

Delivered by Imperial College London through Imperial Global Ghana with support from the British High Commission, the fellowship drew over 500 applicants from Ghana and Nigeria. Selected participants undergo training to better scrutinize scientific claims, verify information, and translate complex technological developments into accessible public stories.

The fellowship includes residential training in Accra, where participants engage with researchers in fields such as artificial intelligence, health technology, and climate change. One fellow's proposed investigation focuses on the impact of AI-powered learning tools within Ghana’s Senior High School education system.
