Ireland and UK issued weather warnings for heavy rain and wind
Severe weather warnings have been issued across Ireland and the United Kingdom as heavy rain and strong winds sweep through the regions.
In Ireland, Met Éireann has issued yellow weather alerts for several counties, including Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Waterford, Galway, Mayo, and Sligo. The warnings cover very strong, gusty southeasterly winds and intense rainfall. Potential impacts include coastal flooding due to high tides and storm surges, localized flooding, fallen trees, and difficult travel conditions. Some areas may also experience heavy, thundery showers.
In the United Kingdom, the Met Office has issued warnings for western areas. Northern Ireland is under a yellow warning for rain, with 20 to 40mm of precipitation expected within a few hours, potentially leading to flooding and disrupted transport. Scotland is also facing heavy rain and intense downpours, while the Irish Sea may see wind gusts between 45 and 55mph. While the west faces unsettled conditions, parts of southeast England and Wales may experience lighter showers and warmer temperatures.
