UK motorways M3, M27, and M5 face planned weekend closures

Major motorway maintenance works are scheduled across several key routes in England from Friday, October 2, through Monday, October 5. National Highways has announced planned closures on the M3, M27, and M5 that may impact travel for motorists.

On the M3, northbound carriageway closures will occur between Junctions 10 and 7 during nighttime hours from Friday through Sunday. Additionally, the northbound entry slip road at Junction 9 remains closed as part of a long-term project lasting until November 2027.

The M27 will experience a link road closure between Junction 12 and the M275 southbound for Portsmouth City Council works, lasting from Friday night until Monday morning. A westbound carriageway closure at Junction 4 is also scheduled for resurfacing.

On the M5, which connects the Midlands to the South West, several closures are planned. This includes an entry slip road closure on the M5 northbound at Junction 19 for electrical works, and a southbound carriageway closure at Junction 21. Drivers are advised to check for diversions to avoid disruption during the weekend.
