UK Offshore Energy Projects Rosebank, Jackdaw and Morgan Windfarm Await Faster Consents
Offshore Energies UK urged the UK government to speed up regulatory consent for the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas projects, highlighting their £8.7 billion and £2.1 billion investment values, expected delivery of £28.7 billion in gross value added and creation of thousands of jobs. The trade body warned that delays increase reliance on imported fuels and raise carbon emissions.
Separately, the Crown Estate opened a fast‑track tender to re‑market the 1.5 GW Morgan offshore wind project in the Irish Sea after the original joint venture withdrew. The site already holds a Development Consent Order and grid agreements, and the accelerated auction process aims to award lease rights by year‑end to maintain momentum for a scheme that could power 1.5 million homes.
