UK orchestras announce new seasons of community and professional music

Musical organizations in the United Kingdom are launching new seasons of performances and community engagement.

The North Shropshire Orchestra, part of North Shropshire Music, has resumed weekly rehearsals at the Musgrave Centre at Moreton Hall School. The community orchestra welcomes musicians of all ages and skill levels, from Grade 1 standard upwards, without requiring an audition. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, and the group plans to perform a variety of classical, film, and pop arrangements through at least two concerts per year.

In Yorkshire, the Orchestra of Opera North is presenting a diverse programme of symphonic concerts and recitals. The Kirklees Concert Season, held at Huddersfield Town Hall in partnership with Kirklees Council, features works by Prokofiev, Sibelius, and Brahms. The orchestra’s schedule includes lunchtime recitals, family-oriented concerts, and live film score screenings to increase accessibility to classical music across the region.
