UK Parks in Grantham and Ramsgate Receive Consecutive Green Flag Awards

Three parks in Grantham—Wyndham, Queen Elizabeth and Dysart—have each been re‑awarded the Green Flag, the benchmark standard for publicly accessible green spaces, for another year. Wyndham Park marked its 15th consecutive award and retained its Green Heritage Site Accreditation, while Queen Elizabeth Park earned its sixth and Dysart Park its fourth successive Green Flag. Council leader Cllr Paul Stokes credited staff and volunteers for maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness and environmental management.

Ellington Park in Ramsgate, Kent, also secured the Green Flag for the fifth year running and kept its Green Heritage Site Accreditation. The park’s recent restoration, funded with £1.8 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, restored historic features such as a 120‑year‑old bandstand. Council member Cllr Steve Albon highlighted the dedication of council teams and volunteers in keeping the park a safe, welcoming community hub.

Both awards are administered by Keep Britain Tidy under contract with the UK Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, recognising excellence in park management across the United Kingdom.
