UK parks Linda Vista Gardens and Quarry Park receive Green Flag Awards

Two UK parks have received the Green Flag Award, an international standard for well-managed green spaces.

In Abergavenny, Linda Vista Gardens earned the accolade following an improvement project funded by the Welsh Government’s Brilliant Basics scheme. The upgrades included restoring views toward the Blorenge and Little Skirrid, creating new planting areas, and installing interpretation panels. The project was a collaborative effort involving Monmouthshire County Council, the Friends of Linda Vista Gardens, and Abergavenny Town Council.

In Dunsville, Quarry Park has been accredited with a Green Flag award for the 2026/27 period. The Friends of Quarry Park noted that the recognition follows extensive volunteer work, including maintaining paths, varnishing benches, and managing vegetation. The group also reported efforts to maintain the local orchard and clear overgrowth near the Hatfield Community Library.
