UK PM Andy Burnham to seek Patriot missiles for Ukraine during US visit

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham plans to visit the United States in September alongside other European leaders to discuss the procurement of Patriot missile systems for Ukraine. The mission aims to persuade U.S. President Donald Trump to grant access to American Patriot missile stocks to bolster Kyiv’s air defenses before the onset of winter.

During the UN General Assembly in New York, European leaders are considering reviving a meeting known as the ‘coalition of the willing.’ This group would focus on securing interceptor missiles from U.S. stockpiles and other partner nations for delivery to the Ukrainian military.

The Kremlin has reacted strongly to these plans, stating that Western arms supplies hinder conflict resolution efforts and directly involve NATO members in the fighting. Russian officials characterized the assistance as counterproductive to negotiations and a threat to long-term regional stability.
