UK Prime Minister convenes COBRA meeting over RAF Fairford terror suspects

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has convened an emergency COBRA meeting following the arrest of five men suspected of preparing a terrorist act near the RAF Fairford airbase in Gloucestershire.

Counter-terrorism authorities identified the suspects as British nationals, aged 20 to 25, residing in London. The arrests occurred after three suspicious vehicles were spotted heading toward the military base. While investigations are ongoing and have uncovered ‘multiple new directions’, authorities have not yet confirmed a motive.

Although some media reports have suggested a potential link to Iran, the Iranian embassy in London has issued a statement categorically rejecting such ‘baseless and malicious speculations’.
